The undergraduate clinical programme is community-oriented and addresses the priority healthcare needs of the country. This enables students to acquire the art and skill of probing scientifically into health and related problems of individuals and communities. Students are exposed to a variety of learning strategies for experiential learning through a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

The Postgraduate programme in Basic Health Sciences is highly developed and has a structured curriculum that focuses on the growing need for research-oriented medical teachers trained in modern teaching and learning strategies.

To meet the challenges posed by the exponential growth of information, students assume responsibility for their learning, using student-centered learning strategies such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Case-Based Discussions, which also promote self-learning skills and teamwork research projects, relevant to national and community needs, are also encouraged.
